International Games Day – register now!

Register now for International Games Day – November 3, 2012!



This year the American Library Association has expanded their annual Game Day to include libraries around the world. For the first time, international participants will be able to sign up for some donations from the three sponors: PopCap, Ravensburger, and GameTable Online. Donations include boardgames like Labrynth and downloadable games like Bookworm and Bookworm Adventures. Register now for a chance to receive these games! http://ngd.ala.org/

Window on America Workshop in Uzhgorod

On July 11-13, 2012, 29 Window on America (WOA) center coordinators gathered in Uzhgorod at the workshop “Window on America Centers: Using New Technologies to Reach a Wider Audience through Mobile “Drive-up Windows.” At the workshop, various issues were discussed: Student programming and youth outreach; Strategy to expand WOA visitation; Skype based web conferences; Education Advising at WOA centers; Effective and interactive Web-Site; Best practices in using iPads. Special presentations and hands-on sessions organizers devoted to eLibraryUSA database collection and to exploring ways Kindle eReaders may be used to extend the collection and for programming. This workshop helped the participants to better understand the current trends in development of the modern library services and the ways to expand access to information. The workshop was covered by the local TV.
