Dear Window on America Center and American Corners Coordinators,
See the Primary Source Sets for teachers on subjects like Abraham Lincoln, Baseball, Immigration, Thanksgiving, The Inventive Wright Brothers, etc. You could find some good material for programming ideas on American history.
The Library of Congress site:
http://www.loc.gov/teachers/classroommaterials/primarysourcesets/
They include mostly PDFs with some audio, plus lesson plans, themed resources like exhibitions, and presentations and activities.
The National Archives has something similar at http://www.archives.gov/education/lessons/
